Main causes of death in Spain in 2021, by gender
In 2021, neoplasms were the leading cause of death among men in Spain, with approximately 292.5 deaths per 100,000 men. Diseases of the circulatory system ranked second, with an average of 241.1 deaths per 100,000 individuals. For women, the main cause of death was circulatory system diseases, with around 262.2 deaths per 100,000 people, followed by neoplasms. Both genders were also strongly affected by infectious and parasitic diseases.
